Why is Resume Important - The Other Side of The Table

why is resume important
One of the most common questions that young candidates do not understand is why it is so important to write resume, especially now when we live in the world of internet technology where information flow and channels of communication are highly developed and possible in more easier, effective and timesaving ways. I can not say that I completely disagree with the younger generations, but there are reasons why some traditional things are hard to change, or even preferred to remain as they are.

The one and only answer to this question is because employers insist on this mode of applying for a job, and it will stay like that until they become willing to change their habits or find a better way, and you can’t do anything about it. If you still need to understand their side of the table, go ahead and waste some time reading the lines below.

The reasons why customer service resume is mandatory are quite simple, but to understand it better we have made a list of several of them which explains it in details from our side of the table. Resumes are:

a) Clearly arranged, short and concise – Resume is a summary of who you are and what you are capable of. It is a concise document that presents your skills, capabilities, previous work experience, and all that is arranged in a very simple way, easy to browse through.

b) Easy for viewing and reviewing - Every employer has a few items that are essential and crucial to whether to employ a person or not. They usually do not read the entire resume, more likely they have a look at some of the most important items about you, and based on this information they make their decision.

c) Easy for sorting out - Yes and No. "Maybe" is not an option. Selecting the candidates who match the position is very simple, it is only necessary that the written resume contains what is required or expected; but the doors are always open for positive surprises. Also, it is very easy to select candidates who do not meet the expected criteria.

d) Easily comparable - After making a selection of the candidates who meet the criteria comes the hard part, and it is narrowing down the choices. This is best and easiest achieved by parallel comparing the resumes of two or more candidates at the same time.

e) Timesaving - You might not like it, but every manager who is in charge of hiring new staff, is very efficient in viewing and sorting resumes, as well as in decision-making. What took you hours or even days to do, they examine for no more than ten - fifteen seconds, and proceed to the next.

f) Easy for taking notes – During reading your resume or even during the interview, the hiring manager in customer service has the ability to take notes on you, thus extending his/hers picture do you meet the required criteria.

With this in mind, believe me, you want to put together a better resume, because when you have already spent time on writing it, add a little more time and make it perfect, because it increases your chances of getting hired!
